Ever wondered if the plants you placed indoors can be more than just for beautification? Yes, indoor plants can improve your quality of life in many ways. Here I’m listing the eight plants that can be grown indoors to give you beauty with many other benefits.

1. Lavender:

Lavender is an aromatic herb which purifies the air. It is known to reduce stress and anxiety, as well as slow down your heart rate. Lavender oil is extensively used, but why limit to just that when you can plant Lavender indoors and take its benefit all through the day and night. The lavender plant will make your place feeling fresh, relaxed and purified. It also repels insects.
Care & Maintenance:
Lavender grows well in hot and dry conditions, so make sure the pot has good drainage with slightly alkaline soil and is placed in a sunny location (ideally towards a south facing window). The best part is that you can propagate lavender from plant cuttings.

2.      Basil:

Basil plant will provide fresh ingredients for your cooking as well as cleanse the toxins in the air, emitting oxygen and fresh minty aroma.
Care & Maintenance:
It needs a coarse textured well-draining soil mix. Keep the plant on a window sill where it can receive almost 6 hours of sunlight. An ideal location will be a sunny spot in your kitchen. You can propagate them from cuttings as well.

3.      Aloe Vera:

Some plants are so multi-functional that if you don’t have them, you are missing out on a lot! Aloe Vera is one such plant which has a wide array of uses. This plant is known to purify the air by releasing larger amounts of oxygen than many others. It can be kept indoors or outdoors. It is best known for its medicinal properties because of which it can be used to moisturize dry skin, heal sunburn. Drinking Aloe Vera juice improves immunity too.
Care & Maintenance:
This plant being a succulent requires less maintenance and watering. Plant it in a soil mix for succulents(dry and sandy soil) and keep the plant in a sunny spot. Water when the soil is dry. Avoid frost and over watering.

4.      Snake Plant (Sansevieria ):

These plants have an interesting form with less spread, upright patterned leaves because of which they are preferred in areas that have less space. They help in cleaning the air inside by removing toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene.
Care & Maintenance:
It can survive low light levels and are relatively easy to maintain. Plant the requires in a free draining soil and can handle the sun as well as shade.
